What Causes Depression After A Hysterctomy?

I had a hysterctomy 3 months ago and held off taking HRT. However, my GP advised me to take the HRT after all for two years. I am 47. I have been taking the HRT for 4 wks this Thursday and I feel so low, depressed even. What I can t work out is whether this is me or the HRT .. ..

Welcome here.

HRT contain estrogen and progesterone which are known to cause mood swings.

Most probably, the cause of your depression is HRT.

It can cause irritability, agitation and depression.

Kindly discuss this with your doctor.
