My son is bi polar, he is on Lexapro and Xanax- he does not have insurance, but has a good job, and cash. He needs a dr in our area 75803 zip to get an apt with, He was discharged from his previous dr. due to her issues not his. He gets very depressed without the Lexapro and can be suicidal.
Dear- thanks for taking your time to ask us a medical advise . I understand your concern about your son and it is very important that he gets medical attention as soon as possible. Depression and anxiety are chemicals imbalances for which medication as Lexapro helps to stabilizes it and the patient feels better. Bipolar patients has alterations in depression and anxiety and sometimes needs the combination of antidepressant and ansiolitic as Xanax to keep them stable. He is depressed because has not been taking the Lexapro, so the brain is unbalanced.Suicidal ideas are part of the complications of depression, so it is important to get medical help and go back on regular treatment. I hope my advise has been helpful and feel free to contact me for any of your medical questions. Dr.Sara
