Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dermatitis On The Arm After Taking Votrient?
I am taking Votrient for kidney cancer and have developed a sunburn from riding in the car over 2 days, with my right arm and hand exposed. Then I got a severe dermetitis on the dorsal aspect of my hand, which has spread up my arm and now after 3 weeks has shown up on my left dorsal hand. Is this a side effect of Votrient?
Before taking Votrient(pazopanib), tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Before using this medication, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver disease, chest pain/heart attack, high blood pressure, stroke, bleeding/clotting problem, intestinal or stomach problems (such as ulcer, fistula, pancreatitis), underactive thyroid. Pazopanib may cause a condition that affects the heart rhythm (QT prolongation). QT prolongation can infrequently result in serious (rarely fatal) fast/irregular heartbeat and other symptoms (such as severe dizziness, fainting)
