hi, i had a kidney transplant in 2009 and have put on some weight which i am trying to do something about by starting to eat a healthier diet. typically i have been eating lots of veg and fruit and a lot of chicken, whereas before i ate a lot of rubbish. The thing that is concerning me is since i started this diet a couple of weeks ago i have had diarreah and some cramping, is this normal?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Overeating could cause diarrhea and that could be due to dyspepsia. So, I would suggest dividing the meal in 2 to 3 parts, eating little less, but repeating the meal after couple of hours and care need to be taken for good and hygienic diet, and try to avoid too spicy and oily food.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
