What Causes Diarrhea After Suffering From High Fever And Sore Throat?

Good morning. Nearly two weeks ago I experienced a high fever, sore throat, headache and body aches. Ended up at ER and they diagnosed mE with strep. After finishing all antibiotics on Sunday I still wasn t feeling well. Had been feeling crumby since diagnosed with strep. Woke up Monday with a very high fever and headache. Went back to ER and they prescribed me another antibiotic. Then last night I was up all night with diarrhea. I haven t had that since I first got sick. Any ideas as to what may be going on. The blood work they took yesterday came back ok other than an infection which was evident by the 104 temp.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have diarrhea after suffering from high fever and sore throat which is because of streptococcal infection leading to strep throat. It is leading to granular pharyngitis. It could be due to poor and compromised immunity of body. I would advise you to take few preventive measures such as do warm saline gargles on daily basis 3- 4 times a day. You should do tepid sponging to avoid high fever. Eat probiotic food , banana and avoid eating spicy food . Take proper antibiotic course such as Levofloxacin for 5-7 days. Take anti-inflammatory drugs such as Sinarest as well. Visit ENT specialist once and get complete examination done. Go for blood tests and sputum test as well. You should drink plenty of fluids. Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist .Take supplements rich in vitamin B12 to booster immunity. Maintain proper oral hygiene.
