Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am unsure if I have a virus or if something is wrong. I have been having loose bowl movement since Friday 11-25 and now my abdominal area hurts, I am not running a fever but everythin gI eat goes thru me and my abdomen feels like I have strained myself.
Other causes might be possible also but are very rare and viral gastroenteritis makes up to 95% of causes with your symptoms.
What I would advise is: 1. Make sure you keep yourself hydrated and drink plenty. ORS solutions are the best way to substitute the lost fluids and electrolytes with diarrhea and vomiting. 2.eat frequent small amount of food and try to avoid milk during this time and sweet or fatty food as this might make diarrhea worse. 3. if no improvement is 3-4 days than you will need to see a doctor or if any blood or mucus with the stools it is good for you to consider seeing a doctor to rule out other causes of the diarrhea.
I hope this answers to your question.
Kind regards
Dr Antoneta
