What Causes Diarrhea Along With Abdominal Tenderness?

hello. I am asking for my dear friend. she is having ongoing watery stools and sudden onset of the need to go along with abdominal tenderness and at times dark stool as well. she has been taking meloxicam for many years and over the last 5 years has begun to take other meds such as atenolol, amlodipine, Lexapro am nd low dose aspirin. we are starting to think her bowel issues are a result of the meloxicam interacting with the other meds. she also has been given these scripts from more than one doctor and I am afraid that the right hand doesn t know what the left hand is doing. She is in her 80 s so age is a factor. what would be the risk of going off the meloxicam which she takes for arthritic problems? what would be the side effects of stopping the medication? what could she take safely for her pain and inflammation? she is already taking turmeric as well as a recent addition to her routine.

Hello,

Taking analgesics for such a long time can cause big harm to the stomach, colon, and kidneys as it can cause ulceration and severe inflammation to the GIT. I prefer to discontinue meloxicam and replace it with another analgesic like panadol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
