What Causes Diarrhea Along With Appetite Loss And Cough?

My son is at college. He’s 22. He has not felt well for a month. He went to an urgent care on 1-12-18 and they said it was a virus. Symptoms: diarrhea, loss of appetite, cough, and a bumpy rash on the tops of his hands, and now he has a tingly feeling in his hands.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. It is most likely that your son is suffering from a bout of viral gastroenteritis. It will most likely pass on its own and no treatment is required. Make sure that your son is hydrated by taking frequent sips of liquids like coconut water or salted lemon water. Also he should take frequent sips of ORS in the manner described on the sachet. He should take probiotic sachets or respules twice daily which will help to fight the infection and speed up recovery. If he doesn't show signs of improvement even after following the above instructions he should get himself checked by a physician. He may also require a stool culture in that case. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
