Hello
Thank you for posting at HCM.
You have not provided adequate history. Most important point to provide in case of any disease in a child is his/her weight. As the drug doses are determined from that, and also the pathology.
At 12 yrs, fever with motions and
vomiting usually constitute food
poisoning, in some cases may be due to
typhoid depending on nature of fever.
We will need more information related to fever, like whether its continuous or on & off, whether it increases during specific time, and if its associated with chills and rigors.
Report being fine also points me to food poisoning.
In such cases we usually prescribe Tab Oflovolk oz 1-0-1 x 4 days, Tab PCM 500mg 1-0-1 x 4 days, Tab Beepan D 1-0-1 x 4 days, Tab
Multivitamin with zinc 1-0-1 x 10 days Syp Volkzyme plus 5ml-0-5ml x 4 days, and give her a lot of ORS, as much as she can drink.
Maintaining rehydration forms the basis of treatment in
diarrhoea, a thorough physical examination will be needed by a
pediatrician to check for signs of
dehydration and then we can advise for IV fluids as per status of the baby.
Hope to have helped you
