What Causes Diarrhea And Black Bowel Movement?
My husband has been having very loose stools today only and it is black with looks like lots of blood. The reason I am hesitant in taking him to ER is because he ate a pint size jar of red beets the last 2 days and am wondering if this could cause stools and stuff to look like blood. It is a whole lot of blood looking stuff???

black stool ...1. it is maleana ( blood in stool ).
2. Go for blood check up and stool check up if haemoglobin is low then he may need blood transfusion
3. consult with gastrologist physician for colonoscopy and endoscopy.
4.consult with surgeon for piles or fissure or haemorroid.
5. If patient is on antiplatelet medicine you should stop this medicine.
