Hi, last night my girlfriend and I had sex and the condom broke.. I ejaculated in her and right after, we rushed to the pharmacy and got the after pill.. Should we be fine? She has been using the bathroom ALOT more now, is that normal? A lot of diarrhea.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
What you have done is right. Emergency contraceptive pills should be taken within 72 hours after an act of unprotected intercourse. Earlier it is taken, it would offer better protection against pregnancy.
Diarrhea could be caused as side effect of the pill. But it should subside on its own. Otherwise, she may have to take symptomatic treatment for that. Let her consume good quantity of fluids.
The pill would prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of taking the pill.
In case there is any delay, she needs to seek medical attention immediately.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
