Hello, my son is 4.5 and is usually healthy and strong. He got sick with what we thought was a stomach bug 14 days ago, severe watery diarrhea and vomitting. He had this for three days, then it stopped but started again after one day, and has basically been happening every day or every other day for 14 days. We have been to his dr twice. She did no test and fave no meds. She said it was a bug and it could take 2 or 3 weeks to run its course. I m getting worried....
Hello Dear. Your child might be having worm infestation. Consult your pediatrician and give deworming tablet or syrup (albendazole).
In case of diarrhoea, the main strategy is keeping adequately hydrated. Give your child plenty of water, coconut water, fruit juice, ORS powder. Your child will be fine by then. Do not worry. diarrhoea is common in children.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
