What Causes Diarrhea While On Ciprofloxacin And Metronidazole?
I am taking Ciprofloxacin hcl and Metronidazole I was told L was having an diviticulitis attach. I have been taking 500 mg of each pill every 12 hours for 2 days now. I stop with the diarrhea after one day, I am now on the second day, and the diarrhea is back is this normal? Can I be having a reaction.
Antibiotic-associated diarrhea is usually mild and requires no treatment. It usually clears up within a few days. But if diarrhea persists beyond a couple of days, you should take lactobacillus capsules. Lactobacilli are good bacteria which are good for your gut and will help with diarrhea.
You should also keep yourself hydrated. If diarrhea persists, consult your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Prabhash Verma,
