What Causes Diarrhea While On Metformin And Gliclazide?

I m a newly diagnosed type 2 my last result was 13.5 fasting with a a1c of 7.5 my doctor had me on metformin, which gave me constant diarrhea, switched me to gluclizide, which is now giving me severe diarrhea, is there a med that can work without diarrhea? or something to counteract the diarrhea?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is a long acting form of metformin that is released slowly over a 24 hour period, in contrast with the other metformin..
There are some persons who experience side effects on the normal metformin but do not have any issues with the metformin xr or glucophage xr because of the very slow release.

This is an option for you. There are also medications such as the DPp 4 inhibitors (januvia, tradjenta) that may work for you.
