General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the initial episode of acute diarrhea of infectious origin was suppressed by anti motility agent as Loperamide most likely which is quite commonly associated with severe constipation. The current guidelines are:
- Plenty of liquids
- High fiber diet
- Bulk forming laxative as Ispaghula husk
- Aerobics and walking

Remaining in regular follow up with your primary care is very essential as it may need a glycerine suppository to be kept in anal region for impacted stool.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
