Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Diarrhoea Along With Severe Pain On Right Side Of Abdomen?
Having diarrhea, severe pain on right side of my abdomen radiating around rib cage.went to doc today, nurse took urine sample. I have also had severe pain-pressure in my bladder or urinary tract. Test revealed bacteria in urine, doc is sending to be cultured. I did not mention the pain in my side, thought it was from diarrhea, but it is getting intolerable.
Urinary tract infections are often associated with pain and other urinary symptoms. Diarrhea boots are due to bowel infection and, are also associated with pain on the abdomen. So, the pain is both from the infections you are having in your urinary and GI tract. I think you should take the medications as prescribed by your doctor, most probably antibiotics. Once the infection is correctly treated, the pain will subside too. In case, it won't subside, should report to your caring doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
