What Causes Difficulty Breathing In A Person With COPD?

Hello, my husband was diagnosed with COPD in 2010 and this past year has been awful for him. He continuously is fighting for air, breathing deeply and fighting for air. His oxygen levels seem to always show in the 90 s. Just last Friday he found he has a small leak in the right ventricle of the heart. His doctor has said it s nothing to panic about and set him an appt. for three weeks from today. I am so worried that this wait is too long. Could you please direct me as to what this all means and should I be advocating to move this along quicker? Thank you so much, I so need help with this and am feeling terrified.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

COPD patients can gasp for air but can be managed with oxygen and inhaler therapies. Kindly consult a pulmonologist for the same.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
