What Causes Difficulty During Urination Along With Blood In Urine?

hi, my father is 82 and has been having urinary problems in the past. He recently started Coumadin and and is now experiencing blood and difficulty urinating. He is also since this morning unable to catheterize himself. Our suspicion is that the Coumadin is causing some bleeding to occur and creating a clot blocking his ability to urinate or. Should we go to the emergency room? (his urologist is closed today.) And would they be able to catheterize better than we can at home?

consult urologist. considering his age it can be prostate problem or stricture urethra.since he-was doing cathetrisation himself, there may be injury. if there is retention and cathetrisaton is not possible then surgical procedure of cystoscopy and release of urine is to be done. he might have developed uti, urine to betested with culture and sensitivity.
