Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 7 year old daughter is pointing to the bottom of her throat and saying she is having a hard time breathing. I have given her water ( 2 small glasses) and she swallows fine. She does not have a soar throat. She shows no signs of labored breathing. Just having a hard time breathing.
Hello there, If your daughter has laboured breathing and if her breathing is accompanied by wheeze or whiny sounds while breathing a long with prominent ribs then she may have a) An inflammation of her trachea or b) Some underlying lung pathology It will be great if you can take her to a respiratory medicine /pulmonologist and get a chest xray and also visualise her throat . A child being able to indicate exactly where she has difficulty breathing is a very good sign but I will like to rule out anything that can be missed by just examination .
Please get back to me with reports and we can discuss further treatment plans, Please feel free to address any further queries to me. I will be happy to help you.
