Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Difficulty In Conceiving Despite A Normal TSH Level?
I had some hypothyroid symptoms, family hx of hypothyroidism, and am having trouble conceiving. Despite normal tsh levels (1.96) and low normal free t4 and free t3 I went in a very low dose of dedicated thyroid (15). My practitioner thought I may have Hashimoto s (thyroid antibodies = 11.4) After 4 weeks however I began to feel a fullness in my throats and was clearing it often. I went off the meds. Does this suggest I was over stimulating my thyroid gland and may not have an under active thyroid?
If the thyroid level is under control, other parameters of pelvic inflammatory issues as endometriosis, blocked fallopian tubes or else should be considered for the evaluation.
Other hormone profile with tube patency test is best needed to proceed further in this instance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
