What Causes Difficulty In Conceiving With All Tests Being Clear?

Trying to conceive for 1 year, no luck. Regular cycle about every 28-30 days. Finished my last full pack of bc pills in the beginning of april 2014. And was on bc pills for about 1 year. Tried ovulation prediction test, timing, chart apps (several different kinds) and taking temps. In 2011 i had a ultra sound scan done on my ovaries and uterus for bleeding during ovulation but nothing bad was ever found. And I had a coloscopy done in feb 2015 because of abnormal pap from December 2014 but the results came back normal from the colposcopy. I am a type 1 diabetic for the past 22 years and have been on a pump and cgm for the past 1 year and 3 months, with regular checkups at my doctor every 3 months or so and my last a1c s have been 6.1-6.3. Any ideas on why no pregnancy yet?

Hi,

There are several possible reasons for difficulty in conceiving even when all tests are clear. These include:
* Timing of intercourse: Even though ovulation prediction tests and tracking of menstrual cycles may be helpful, it is possible that intercourse is not happening at the optimal time for conception. It is recommended to have intercourse every 2-3 days throughout the menstrual cycle.
* Sperm quality: While female fertility is often the focus of fertility evaluations, male factors may also play a role in difficulty conceiving. It may be helpful for the male partner to have a semen analysis done to assess the quantity and quality of sperm.
* Fallopian tube blockage: Sometimes, blockages in the fallopian tubes can prevent the egg from reaching the uterus and sperm from reaching the egg, leading to difficulty conceiving. A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) or laparoscopy may be recommended to evaluate the fallopian tubes.
* Age: As women age, the quality and quantity of their eggs decrease, which can make it more difficult to conceive. If the woman is over 35 years old, it may be helpful to discuss with a doctor about potential fertility treatments.
* Other medical conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or endometriosis, can affect fertility. It is recommended to discuss with a doctor about potential treatment options.

It is important to continue working with a healthcare provider to investigate possible causes of difficulty in conceiving and discuss potential treatment options.
