What Causes Difficulty In Defecation And Hard Stool?

I m having an extremely hard time passing stool. I ve always had difficulties but this is much more than it s ever been. I m almost certain that the stool is really hard, but I m not going to feel it. Every time I get the urge to go, I try but I end up not being able to get it out. I haven t been able to go in the last six days. The problem isn t that I m not getting the urge, it s getting it out. I really want to keep this problem secret from my family who I m on vacation with right now, so if there was any solution I could use with common home products or just a different position while trying, I would be very grateful.
