What Causes Difficulty In Finding Words?

I am a woman who is almost fifty one. Since last spring, I have noticed that I am having word retention gaps, usually in the middle of a conversation. It could be my bosses name, losing track in the middle of a conversation. As a teacher, I am finding it s slowly getting worse. What could be causing this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Sometimes this can be a normal thing or due to stress and overload but some medical conditions should be ruled out first.

You may need to have your TSH checked to rule out problems with your thyroid as thyroid may affect the brain and cause a person to have similar problems.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
