What Causes Difficulty In Healing Of Incision Scar?
TWO Questions. I had a broken leg, 2 bones, back in august. First surgery august, second surgery to remove pins was mid october. My surgical wound refuses to heal. I am on my 3rd course of antibiotics. It seems to get better and then for some reason stops and then gets worse. What kind of doctor should I be looking for at this point? My orthopedics surgeon does not know what to do at this point. No I am not diabetic. And what kind of xrays or scans would show if something was left inside me, like a piece of plastic or a gauze or some foreign material?

dont worry,this problem is very common after a repeat surgery.the wound over an implant have a lack of power to form granulation tissue.
skin frafting is needed manytimes.i shall advise you to use oxum spray over the raw area plus antibiotic dressing.
you should consult a plastic surgeon in this matter.
you can go through an x ray for foreign materials in your body.
