What Causes Difficulty In Hearing Post Ear Attachment Surgery?

My Husband had to have his ear reattached after an accident on Octob.er 11th, 2015 The tissue has healed quite well but he has not regained hearing in that ear. He says that it sounds like he is wearing an ear plug all the time and has echos in his head. We realize there is likely a blockage of wax and blood in the ear and we have tried to use oils to get it to release but it has not improved. Our rural hospital only offers flushing and he is looking to find someone to vac the ear in case there has been any damage to the ear drum during the blow to his head. She he be seen by an ENT before flying out on vacation and if so can he be seen at the walk in clinic since there is little time left for booking an appointment.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.....
Thank you for posting your query.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
From your description, it seems that your husband might have middle/inner ear damage due to blow to head. Kindly don't do flushing without your doctors approval, because you could be causing more damage. This also applies to using oil or wax remover. Let your doctor examine him thoroughly. After doing all necessary investigations like Audiometry your doctor can make a final diagnosis. Please try not to postpone your doctors appoinment because of your vacation.
hope i helped you.
All the best.
