What Causes Difficulty In Holding The Head Up Along With Back Pain?

My spine from my neck down to my low back hurts. It s hard for me to hold my head up or turn my head. Pains shoot from my low back down into my buttocks. I do have rheumatoid arthritis. I m told I have severe stenosis on the right side of my neck. I have had injections in my neck for pain management. I m scheduled to have a rhizotomy done on 3 cervical joints on the right side. I m a little nervous about having this procedure.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that this is a quite safe procedure and it will help reduce the pain in your neck and back pain.

In the meantime, I would recommend taking gabapentin or amitriptyline for pain control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
