Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Today I had surgery to break up 2 large kdney stones. Unfortunately, when my urologist found the stones in the meaty part of my left kidney leaving them inoperable. He said this is an extremely rare occurence and inserted a stent to help with UTI pain. Do you have any dea what this is called so I will know what I need to search fir?
Some kidney stones may be small enough making it difficult to remove them surgically or the stones may be present in narrow area of the kidney from where surgical removal is not possible.
There is nothing to worry since stent has been inserted and it will reduce the symptoms occurring due to kidney stone.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri,
