Hi,
Thank you for providing the brief history of you.
A thorough Musculoskeletal assessment is advised.
As the knee is painful in extension and flexion, also the Range is not complete, i will advice to undergo a thorough musculoskeletal assessment. Also, an MRI will be of help to understand the structures inside the knee joint. Usually, this scenario occurs by any
ligament injury for which a clinical assessment is needed and also an MRI will be advised.
Post the diagnosis of which ligament is injured, with simple pain killer and
Physical therapy the
rehabilitation can be planned. Physical therapy will include, Therapeutic
ultrasound therapy - for reducing inflammation and TENS therapy - for pain management. Also, later stages the ROM exercises will be taught and then the strengthening exercises for the knee joint to regain stability. For advanced therapy, joint
Proprioception techniques will be implemented for better rehabilitation.
