What Causes Difficulty In Moving The Bowels?

I haven t pooped in like 5 or 6 days but I feel fine, no bloating or pain. I also was recently discharged home from the ICU from suffering a couple skull fractures due to mountain biking, so I am required to stay in bed for 2 weeks with my family taking care of me. What do you suggest I do? One of the daily pills I have been prescribed is stool softener so I don t strain and harm my brain too much while pooping, but as you can tell I haven t been doing much of that recently. Any suggestions? Advice/tips?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

So after hospitalization, it's common to have an alteration of bowel habits. You should drink plenty of fluids. Also, do a few exercises that will help you to relieve your bowels.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
