What Causes Difficulty In Opening The Mouth?

Hi, I am having trouble moving my right side of my jaw, hard to open my mouth. My left side is just fine. If I work on it, I can open my mouth more, but it is painfull. This is the second time on the same side in the lst 2 months. I don't take medications, I have not had any dental work done, and no cuts, and I have had a tetnas shot with in the last year. Also, no drugs.

Hi..
Thanks for the..

Your jaw joint is appearing to be displaced leading to difficult on opening the mouth wide..

If any one side is displayed then you can observe more or less activity on affected side and there is also disturbed symmetry of teeth or face..

You should get an OPG x ray done and get it examined by an oral physician or TMJ specialist..

For now take a combination of painkillers and muscle relaxants..
Take soft diet and avoid excessive mouth opening..
Avoid stress and take sufficient rest..

Hope this helps

Regards..
