What Causes Difficulty In Penetration During Intercourse?

I am newly married and my husband and myself trying to have penetrative sex for the past 20 days. But he just cant penetrate me even if he tries much. For the first time in my life i tried to insert my finger into me and it did go inside fully. But it was very tight . What should i do to make my husband enter me fully? I am so much depressed about this.

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

The cause could likely be vaginismus. When a woman has vaginismus, her vagina's muscles squeeze or spasm when something is entering it like penis. It is a common among young married women. Anxiety and fear of having sex could be the cause. Stay relaxed and discuss the issue with your partner. Have a lot of foreplay. You can start exercises to learn to control and relax the muscles around the vagina. These are called Kegel exercises. Do these exercises by squeezing the same muscles you use to stop the flow of urine when urinating:

Squeeze the muscles.
Hold for 2 to 10 seconds.
Relax the muscles.
Do about 20 Kegels at a time. You can do them as many times a day as you want to.
Gradually try to insert your finger into the vagina. After some times slowly try 2 and then 3 fingers.
You can also use locally applied lignocaine gel for vaginal pain

If the problem is due to anxiety or stress consult your physician who may prescribe you with anxiolytic drugs like alprazolam.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
