Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 51 year old woman here that can not straighten her leg completely, she has seen her pcp and a specialist. She has had MRI and Echocardiogram, 2 sonograms and a xray all are negative. She had a steroid shot which helped for a couple of weeks, but it has returned. They have drained fluid off her knee and it came right back. She has developed 2 bruises on the lateral side of her knee and thigh which resemble spider veins. Any suggestions?
The lady has arthritis of knee likely osteoarthritis unless there is any other abnormalty in MRI of knee, drainage of knee with intra articular steroid injection will help for short term basis however the the final treatment will be knee replacement which is not so expensive now.
