What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing After Drinking Clorox?
Hi, Yesterday I drank a drop or two of clorox by accident and then I was all worried. But I was good for that whole day. Could a drop of clorox rupture the esophagus? Im pretty sick today. I have difficulty swallowing and a cough but thats it. Im pretty scared right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
As per your complain it seems that swallowing Clorox has caused chemical injury to the lining of throat and esophagus and causing ulceration and inflammation.. Although a drop or two is less likely to cause any serious damage, so you need not to worry about it.. The best way it can be resolved is to avoid exposure to the chemicals.. You can also do warm saline gargles and suck throat lozenges to relieve throat irritation. Steam inhalation can help.. Suck ice pops and drink plenty of water.. Take a soft diet and avoid spicy and hard foods.. Maintain a good oral hygiene.. In case if there is no improvement consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards.
