What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing And Singing Post Cervical Disc Fusion Surgery?

I had the 4-7 cervical disc fused almost a year and a half ago. I have trouble swallowing, can t sing high pitches, I wake sometimes and can.t breath, I m in much more pain, and now the pain radiates down my spine. The plate is crooked. I believe removing the plate will help with my throat issues and perhaps the pain also. I m allergic to eggs, nuts, beans, animals, many plants...and have been told that I m a borderline bubble baby and wonder if I m allergic to the plate. I m really mad I told the doctor that did this about my concerns of being allergic to the metal. I finally found a dermatologist that is going to test me for metal allergies and this doctor told me the plate comes in a kit to test for allergic reactions so this insane doctor could have tested me before he put the plate in

hi,

thanks for the brief history of you.

as you mentioned about your pain and aches along with breathing difficulty. it is sad to hear that you are facing more issues than before the surgery.

usually post surgery the body needs to get adapt to the new implant which may take some time. In the mean time, you need to focus on three things.
1. do regular meditation
2. do regular breathing exercises
3. do physcial therapy for strengthening the muscles of the neck.

also to understand that no process is implemented for making the symptoms more , it's a try of a doctor to help the symptoms lower down.

also faith and patience are the two words which keeps the human life on a strong path of recovery.

Keep a faith in your own self and have patience for performing exercises.

Once the lungs will improve the voice of you will be in a much better shape - so for this reason I mentioned the breathing exercises.

also once the neck muscle will become stronger you pain radiating to the spine will also reduce.

you can discuss the same with your Surgeon and I am sure assist you. You will surely have a good health soon. Its a matter to keep patience.

Regards.
