Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing, Constant Cough And Breathlessness?
I have trouble just to swallow. Not eating or drinking anything. Two times I have cough so hard and then something happens and I can t breath or swallow. Then I panic but I hit my chest and try to clear my throat so I can breath again. The swallowing is there almost all the time. I have been to a Dr. and got spray for my nose to help with any sinus drainage. Do you have any answers?

Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. Tim Evans's Response
If you are experiencing persistent dysphagia, or difficulty in swallowing, and are now getting problems with coughing, I would suggest you see your doctor and ask about undergoing an endoscopy. Your doctor will ask you more in-depth questions in order to decide whether this is needed, and whether it should be in the form of a laryngoscopy (in the ENT department) or a gastroscopy (in the gastroenterology department).
