Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When eat certain foods (usually fried) they get stuck and wont go down. At times if I can relax I can get the food to go down. Sometimes nothing I can do helps. I have to go in bathroom and try to bring it up to bring it up along with mucus. Any ideas ?
As per your query you have difficulty in swallowing food. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur probably due to throat infection that can be Bacterial or Viral in nature leading to severe Inflammation ,which is causing swallowing difficulty. Tonsillitis can also cause difficulty in swallowing. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. Doctor may also order CT scan in case he find it necessary . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics and along with it start taking anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen. Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine. Doctor may also recommend tonsillectomy. Keep doing warm saline gargles , suck throat lozenges and chew Vitamin C pellet , drink plenty of warm water or avoid spicy and chilled foods. Eat soft food or liquid diet.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
