My friend recently fell very hard into a brick building. The accident happened two weeks ago. And 8 days ago she started having difficulty talking. She talks very slowing like she can t get the words out She probably has traumatic brain injury. She went to the Dr the day she fell nothing was done for her. No cat scan or MRI was ordered what should she do. Will the difficult speaking be something that will improve in time

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Any neurological deficit like weakness or speech difficulty after a fall needs scanning of the brain. If he has difficulty in talking, he definitely needs an MRI or scan of the brain. So get one done urgently.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
