What Causes Difficulty In Urinating After A TURBT Procedure?

Hi, I just had a TURBT procedure yesterday for removal of small polyps in the bladder. I have had this done as well 9 months ago with no post op problems. However, this time, I am having difficulty in urinating. After repeated body positioning which did help produce trickles, I am no longer able to even start urinating. Bladder feels full, but can t urinate at all. Pain is there as well. Anything I can try for home remedy, or/and See my urologist immediately? Thank you

Hi,

It can happen after TURBT.

It is due to weakness or injury to nerves during the procedure,

Consult your urologist and get evaluated, If symptoms are severe, catheterization may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
