Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had trouble urinating - feel the urge to go but I can t. Feel pressure. My urine sample came back clean. No other symptoms. I am a 61 year female. I was on a steroid and Benadryl for poison ivy but have been off both for 2 weeks. My doctor doesn t seem worried. Do I have anything to be concerned about?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
At this age you might have a prolapse or diverticulum which might be obstructing the flow of urine. Other causes could be neurogenic. It is important to consult a urologist as retention of urine could lead to urinary tract infections again and again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Khyati Segan
