This 44 yr old lady is a known case of CIDP & hypothyroidism with history of gradually progressive difficulty in walking for 11 months with inability to stand without support. She also has history of progressive weakness of bilateral hands (left right), low back pain along with paresthesia of lower limb. She was treated with IvIg following which there was some improvement in lower limb muscle power (2/5 in quadriceps from 1/5 previously). She was to follow up, with monthly pulses. what i do?
I have read your question in detail and will try to help you in the best way possible.
This needs to have a work up. I suggest starting from the history and ask about all the medications that she is taking. Some drugs can cause this over a period of time. Also i would like to know if there is a problem in nerve conduction or muscle electric activities by doing EMG.
I hope this answered all your queries, if you have more queries,I will be happy to answer.
Wish you the best of health.
Regards.
