What Causes Difficulty In Walking?

hello I have great difficulty walking getting worse when I stand I have to use my arms .I used to be on statins and the pain was terrible I not on them now I had open heart surgery about 5 years a go and now I i m having some heart failure.had to walk downtown today and everyone passed me like I was standing still

I am sorry for the health problems you are facing.

There are various causes to difficulty in walking including:
- the primary cardiovascular problem (heart failure) and the open heart surgery you had 5 years ago
- you say to be on statins but not anymore; if statins have caused muscle weakness, it will take a bit longer for the recovery explaining why you are having difficulty in moving now
- next, medications you are on for heart failure might include diuretics or others that would cause loss in blood electrolytes. Check your blood electrolytes and get them adequately replaced.
- another cardiovascular attack is also to rule out by cardiologist through a good cardiac check up

As you may see, there are various exams and tests you need to run in order to determine the right diagnosis. I highly recommend to consult with your cardiologist as soon as possible.
