What Causes Difficulty In Walking?

I have difficulty walking for any length of time. I especially have trouble when I stand from a sitting position and start to walk. Although I have pain when walking it is not sever or sharp. The pain also is not always in the same joint. I just feel very weak like I cannot walk any longer. Stranding still is hard.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pain on walking could be a result of many things. I hope you can answer a few of my questions so I could advise you on the same.
1. Do you smoke?
2. Is there any swelling in your legs?
3. Is the pain at the joints or in the muscles?
4. Does the pain decrease once you sit for a bit or once you walk a short distance?
5. If the pain is unbearable, try taking Diclofenac, some cold compress at the places where it hurts.
6. How old are you? Does anyone in your family have rheumatoid arthritis?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
