Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello my name is Donna I will be 55 8/12. I cannot raise my leg arm all the way, and I am experiencing swelling in my back near the spine on the right side. My upper body feels numb, I had an MRI last year it showed that I had a rotatory cuff injury but when I went to the Orthopedics he said that it was inflammation. I was given medicine for that. I don t want to jump to the wrong conclusions. Answers?
Difficulty in raising legs & arms may be due to the history of rotatory cuff injury & inflammation that you have. Since you have symptoms of numbness it may be indicative of PAD, Neurological disorder or MS, etc.
Stiffness in the joints may indicate RA or OA, gout. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP & get Blood tests & Imaging tests to detect the pathology causing you discomfort.
Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected & your clinical symptoms. You are suggested to avoid sedentary lifestyle & start to do stretch exercises & walking. You may take the help of a physiotherapist.
Take Vitamin B6, B12 & vitamin E rich food or supplements. For pain you can take acetaminophen, one sos when required.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K
