What Causes Difficulty Swallowing After Taking Cartia XT?

i have a prescription for Cardia XT capsule 120 mg. I have a difficult time swallowing and in the past I have been able to take some capsules by emptying the tiny pills contained in the capsule into a spoon full of applesauce and swallowing the medicine by that means. Would that be okay to do with Cardia XT?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that Cardia XT tablets should not be chewed.

For this reason, if you have troubles with swallowing, I would recommend discussing with your doctor on the possibility of switching to other possible treatment options.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist
