What Causes Difficulty Urinating When Suffering From Severe IBS?

Yes please, I was diagnosed many years ago with severe IBS, plus diagnosed with opiate belly now because of having to use opiates for the last 26 years from failed back surgery. Now I m having horrible trouble urinating. A few weeks ago I strained to try and urinate while having a bowel movement. A growth popped out of my anus which initially I thought was a hemmoroid. It is not. It is a growth probably 1/4 -1/2 in size and hard like cartilage. For the past 10 years I ve had a pain while having bowel movements only once in a while, but the pain is way down in my rectum or colon and when it hits it almost knocks me off the toilet. I mean it s a pain that is bone deep and truly almost renders me unconscious. Now with this growth popping in and out of my rectum it makes it hard to urinate and to achieve orgasm because I feel as if my body is always trying to hold it inside the rectum. Also my bowel movements look like string beans and can only get a little out at a time because the growth is in the way. Plus it is now painful and raw. What do you think it might be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The difficulty in urination is secondary to compression from the rectal growth (which can be of various reasons). As the hemorrhoid is ruled out (if by consultant examination), the second and most common possibility would be rectal tumor or growth. The growth or tumor will compress the anterior lying urinary bladder and pausing the symptoms of dysuria and further urinary disturbances. However, an ultrasound examination of abdomen & pelvis with proctoscopy or anoscopy examination by consultant surgeon is must to get precise management guidelines after thorough evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
