What Causes Disappearance Of Dimple On Face After Dental Filling?
I went to the 4 days ago to get a filling and the dimple on my right cheek disappeared and I don't have any swelling really. I just went back today to get the other side filled and I am scared they won't come back. I talked to my dentist and he was not much help. Please help my dimples are what makes me............ME!!!!.
As per your complain if you have a disappeared dimple after a dental filling it can be only due to swelling which must have occured due to either inflammation of nerves if filling is accidently done deep over the nerves present within the tooth in centre.
There is no other significant reason associated with dental treatment and loss of dimple..
If you find no swelling it may be due to less apperent swelling that can show gross disfigurement of face..
You can get an x ray of the tooth filled as well as check for pain and tenderness by tapping over the tooth and palpating the gums to find any abnormality with the tooth that is filled to find out the cause of swelling if you relate dental treatment with the disappearence of dimple..
Hope your query is solved..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora
