Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my 2nd finger on my left hand turn white, like it was dead. The color came back but now it is numb. Today the same finger had a black area between the 1st & second joint. It did not turn white today & the finger remains numb. I had a stroke about 13 years ago & the index left finger has been numb since then. Is this something serious that requires immediate treatment? Is there a specific type of doctor to see about this? Thank you, Barbie

General & Family Physician, Dr. Deepika's Response
Numbness in fingers can be due to vitamin deficiency; certain medicines ; artery occlusion by an embolism ; or raynaulds disease. U should see a cardiovascular surgeon for this complaint. The doctor may ask you to do a color doppler to see circulation in your hand. Regards
