Hi,

Before I answer your question, my advise is to stop taking Lasix. Also, can you give a little more information regarding your problem?

1) How long are your feet and ankles aching? One limb or both limbs?

2) The discolouration does it stay the whole day or it comes and goes (especially when you are exposed to cold)?

3) Are your feet tender to touch? and are you having any fever?

Most common reasons for Pain in feet and ankles in diabetics can be:

1) Nerve Pain: When the Blood sugar is not under control and the nerves get damaged or irritated, people complain of pain, pricking sensation, burning or even electric shock like symptoms

2) Due to an infection: If there is infection of your feet tissue, it can cause redness, warmth and pain of the feet

3) Gout: can cause severe pain of the joints especially the big toe joint and also, ankles but the color changes are not usual.

Before you meet your doctor you can take some paracetamol and can start on a medication called Pregabalin.

I would be able to help you better, provided you give me more details. Contact further if needed.

Regards,
Dr. Samuel
