Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have discoloration around my hairline. It doesn t itch or anything, my skin color would be dark tan and the color around my hairline would be pale. I just thought i needed a tan but it s been pale for the past 2 weeks. I noticed it after playing basketball and my hairline started to burn but didn t notice the discoloration until the day after. What can this be ?
Discoloration around hairline may be due to the sunburn. You need to check if the same spots are anywhere else on your body. The following are treatment options: 1) Calamine lotion helps to soothe 2) Hydrocortisone 1% ointment to be applied twice daily 3) Take high quantity of vitamins A and C 4) Apply sunscreen when you go out
If the discoloration doesn't respond to any of the above, please do consult a dermatologist for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment with thorough clinical examination.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
