What Causes Discoloration Of Stool?

Hi, I have a couple of questions regarding the color of my stool, it started out very dark at which point I went to A/E & had a blood test. I was given the all clear and sent home. I felt better but then after about a week (maybe something I ate) my stool went light coloured (almost clay coloured) after some diarrhea. I also had some lower abdomen pain which has gone now, stool is is changing back to normal slowly. I have seen my GP & has requested another blood test. I am very worried because my symtoms in google say I might have hepititas even though I can t recall and contact with blood (never used any drugs,or injections). My question here would this have been picked up in the 1st blood test? I am having the 2nd one tom just very worried as to the need for a another as my GP said she didnt understand the A/E blood test results. pls help
